The Sons of Norway Historic Norse Hall celebrated its Diamond anniversary on October 18, 2003

The Northern Lights Gala benefited one of Portland's cultural landmarks and its 75 years of service as a center for Scandinavian-American citizenship and culture in the Northwest.

This fundraising extravaganza brought together the creative energies of more than 40 artists, businesses, musicians, culinary experts and more. The fanciful re-creation of Bergen's famous seaport market, the Northern Lights Contemporary Arts Gallery - an exclusive assembly of local Scandinavian artists; the Nordic Crafts Cottage, and the mystical Troll Forest for kids - all capped by a magical evening of Big Band swing dancing beneath an aurora borealis light show in our historic Grand Ballroom. Plus, enter to win a roundtrip for two to Scandinavia on SAS, and other wonderful prizes.

Proceeds will benefit the educational, literary and cultural activities of Portland's Sons of Norway, as well as the Norse Hall Preservation & Restoration Project.
